Our children spend 180 days at school each year. Supporting our GUSD students will be the focus of my work as a Trustee for Area B.

School should be a joyful place where students can thrive, and where they see themselves represented in the lessons they learn and the topics they study.

As a certified classroom teacher and a parent, I know our children learn best from happy, healthy, expert educators.

They learn best on campuses that are clean and healthy, with nurses, counselors, and aides.

We owe it to our children to make GUSD one of the best places to work in Los Angeles. GUSD is largest employer in Glendale, yet our teachers and staff rank 43rd in average salary in Los Angeles County.

Our students’ families are the larger community that makes up GUSD.

Families should feel confident that their children are safe and supported at school. Parents and guardians need better communication from GUSD about discipline and safety.

Our families need better wraparound services in schools (counselors, nurses, childcare). Read more about how I plan to support our families if elected.
